Equality from a stange Place

Women are being discriminated against by not receiving the same prizemoney in theBelgrade Marathon as men, said a national gender equality group on Sunday.

"Why does the male winner of the marathon receive Ç8,000 (US$9,600), while the winner of the women's race gets only Ç6,000 (US$7,200)?" said the gender equality group attached to Serbia's ruling G17 Plus party in a statement. "It's one and the same marathon, the same race, the same course."

The group called on the organizers of the annual Belgrade Marathon - which will be run this year on Apr. 22 in the Serbian capital - to offer equal prizemoney.
I would love to know the ratio of prize money for some of South Africa's marathons. I know that the Argus Cycle Race uses a ratio. The more women enter, the larger the prize money for the women. It doesn't make sense, though, as only a small group of men and women actually CAN win the race and earn prizes.

Do women deserve the same as men if they don't put on as much of a show?
