Some Badminton News

South Africa has suffered a double blow on the opening day of the Yonex Thomas and Uber Cups - the World Team Badminton Championships in Sendai, Japan.

In the first of three group matches the men's Thomas Cup team, were thrashed 5-nil by Denmark, and the women's Uber Cup side, also lost 5-nil to Japan.

In 10 games South Africa failed to win a set.
